I must have a ten or so belts. Most are leather or canvas that come with pre-set holes. I also have two that are the stretchy material with plastic buckles that snaps together.
They all had the one flaw…they are not precise. Belts do not adjust depending on my current weight or the material of my pants or because of my tucked in shirt.
The pre-set holes had no precision. You were at the mercy of the pre-set spacing. One hole might make the belt a little too tight…the next one would make it too loose.
The stretchy adventure belts were the next best step up. I got the Arcade adventure belt. They were light, easy and super casual….good for adventure travels. They were like rubber bands around your waist. Just like rubber bands though, they can pinch too much. The skin around my waist was a little sensitive to material putting a lot of pressure against it so, unfortunately, I would get a rash every so often. I ended up wearing them on the loose side. I did like traveling internationally with them. Arcade belts were great at airports though since they had no metal parts. I didn’t have to worry about them triggering any alarm.
I kept thinking why isn’t there some kind of belt technology that fixes this precision issue. This past year I found it.
The Bulliant Slide Ratchet Belt.

The rachet technology on the Bulliant belt is brilliant. It’s a perfect fit everytime…Everytime. It’s easy to adjust and release with the control clasp. If you need to shorten/cut the belt to size, that was pretty straightforward too.
Since buying the Bulliant belt, I really have not needed to use any other belt. It’s nice enough to wear anywhere and my pants feel secure without the over/under feel of being squeezed. I have been pretty happy with it. I think the one caveat is if I decide to go on some adventurous trip, I might bring out the Arcade belt since I won’t have to worry about it getting wet, scuffed or dirty but ultimately…my precious Bulliant belt is the one belt that rules them all.
