Loving Inflation

This is not a post about the economic climate…this is about being able to inflate your car tires in the convenience of your own home. I love it. I mean this also can be used to fill everything else up like bicycle tires, balloons, air mattresses, sport balls, etc.

I saw a product on Instagram for inflating your tires at home or for car emergencies. I thought “Cool, I don’t have to drive around looking for a gas station for air services.” I would no longer have to worry if the gas station’s air machine was digital or had the old school air measurement (that stick that pops out). I didn’t cross my mind to get a portable air compressor since, frankly, I don’t use it that much and also, I assumed it was a lot of money.

I don’t remember the actual product that inspired me on Instagram but I was surprised how affordable that product was. I had to do my own research and see what else was out there.

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because this is not a product I use regularly but, at the same time, I didn’t want to buy something that would break after two uses.

I ended up buying the TEROMAS Tire Inflator Air Compressor. I liked how it had a substantial amount of reviews on Amazon, a good rating, decent price and the design (to me) was much nicer than the other product listings. It looked like it could do so much more than fill my tire with air like transform into a robot or vacuum my floor. Sometimes, I’m not incredibly scientific when making purchases.

The TEROMAS Tire Inflator works well.

The inflator comes with two plugs…one for the car (lighter plug) and one to plug into a regular outlet. The one for the lighter plug was long enough to get to all the tires of my SUV. The regular outlet chord was a bit short. I would have to use an extension chord if I wanted to get around the car.

The machine looks slick but is not immediately intuitive though.

There is a big display with three red buttons.

You can use the plus/minus sign to specify the pressure you want. Well, after setting the pressure to the desired amount, it wasn’t clear what to do. You are supposed to press the red button at the top right but those top red buttons, at first, looked like a design element to me rather than something functional. Maybe it’s more obvious to other people and people who read directions. The other red button turns on the flashlight in the front.

My car tires were 1-2 PSI off so I filled them up. The machine stopped once I hit the pre-determined PSI.

That was easy.

Since then, I used it to fill up balloons for a party and a couple bikes.

What I didn’t like about it was that it’s pretty loud. I assume that is normal…though I can’t compare it to any other product in terms of sound. Also, it’s not as fast as the air pumps at the gas station.

Overall, I like the TEROMAS Tire Inflator Air Compressor.

It was affordable and I no longer have to look for air pumps at gas stations. I am hoping this gets me to check the tire pressure more often for safety and efficiency. Also, I really see this as a good thing to have in the car in case of emergencies.
